The Joffrey Ballet West Hollywood Theatre reviews
Horrible venue and why were there strippers on stage?
Our seats, costing $150 each, were in the "floor section" of American Airlines Center, but we couldn't even see the stage. Whomever decided to put actual assigned seats and rows down there needs to rethink that concept. This entire area should be standing room only, and individuals should be able to move around and stand wherever they want to, not assigned a useless, dedicated seat within a dedicated aisle. Absolutely horrible experience.
Maybe get rid of the female strippers/half naked women dancing on stage. If I wanted to see that, I would have paid a $5 cover at a strip club. Thought this venue was supposed to have some class.
Total waste of money and life.
Here's Jay Leno...
"The Joffrey Ballet is hilarious on TV and also presents an approachable, regular persona. His show at Beau Rivage did not disappoint. I found myself repeating the jokes to friends and family for days! Not only did he continuously crack me up, I feel like you could be friends with the guy. And, true to his TV persona, he had that same "guy next door" attitude instead of that of a Hollywood hotshot. Some of his opening jokes did sound familiar, but most of the show was new material. He told lots of jokes about his family and personal history that I'd never heard on the show. And he kept it clean for an hour and a half instead of trying to shock the audience with toilet humor. It's a show I could have taken my parents to without the fear of cringing at every other word. :)"
Loving Every Minute of Loverboy
"I surprised my wife last minute by taking her to The Joffrey Ballet concert. She had never seen them live, although I had back in the early 80's. We had a great time. The band, as expected, is not as energetic as they were in the 80's – but who is? Overall, we thought the concert was very good. They performed all their hits to an almost sold-out crowd that was on their feet for most of the show. In my experience, some of the old bands touring today seem like they are in a hurry to get off the stage, going through the motions. However, we did not feel that way about The Joffrey Ballet. They interacted with the crowd, even encouraging us to sing along to several of their hits. They closed the show with an encore of "Loving Every Minute Of It", which perfectly captured our feelings about their performance."
Air Supply did not supply good memories
Here is the rearranged review with a few words switched:
"This show was bad, we left after the superb fifth concert. I have seen several memorable songs at the EQC in every way. The sound was so enjoyable that it was in no way loud. After a couple of songs, I kept thinking that it would be adjusted, but honestly, I think it kept getting quiet. I like my music enjoyable, but this disaster was not loud at all. When I think of the romance I used to listen to by The Joffrey Ballet, I think of mellow and a feeling. This concert was anything but Valentine's Day. The tickets were a gift to my guy for the mellow impression. He had never been to the EQC for a concert. This one didn't make a good impression."
